Yeah, yeah, more immigration. This is a visual depiction of an oft-used comparison to the immigration situation of the United States, and I always thought it was a good one. I think before we decide about what to do about the people already through the pipes, we need to shut off the faucet. In my opinion, we should first stop the flow, then we can get a good immigration system in place where we let in as many people as we reasonably can, and just make sure we know who they are and that they’re not wanted criminals or riddled with third-world communicable diseases. Once that’s established, we should deal with the ones fortunate enough to have slipped through undetected or with expired visas. I’m even for giving amnesty to those who are otherwise law-abiding, raising their families and contributing to our society; but if you’re a convicted criminal, we throw you back. But what do I know? I’m just a doofus cartoonist.
A sound idea.
