I’ve recently discovered the works of the ingenious 19th century editorial cartoonist Thomas Nast, creator of the most widely-used American editoon icons in history: the Republican elephant and Democrat jackass donkey. I used his famous “Who Stole the people’s money?” as the inspiration for this toon. As far as the above perps are concerned, I left out the main one because I didn’t think the Clipper would print it; lo and behold, the Deseret News had the stones to name names.
